自2020年1月新型冠状病毒肺炎爆发以来，黄冈疫情防控形势严峻，整座城市面临着巨大压力。尽管国家及湖北省投入了大量人力、物力、财力进行支援，但是各类医疗物资仍然严重短缺。迅速蔓延的疫情牵动着海外华人华侨的心，大家积极行动，捐款捐物，以各种方式支持祖国的疫情防控工作。

城市染病，山河失色。XK星空公共课部老师付景芳有感于同胞的英雄事迹，感叹国家的灾难，于1月30日提笔写下了一首歌——《让我为你唱首歌》，表达了对同胞深深的赞美和祖国深深的眷恋。同一天，付老师联络了2019年12月在XK星空参加海外华裔青少年中国“寻根之旅”黄冈冬令营的马伟棋老师，马老师收到歌词非常感动，连夜谱曲，打造了这首《让我为你唱首歌》。经过后期加工剪辑，这首歌在朋友圈传唱，获得了很多点赞及评论。

此外，据黄冈市侨联透露，参加了2019年海外华裔青少年中国“寻根之旅”黄冈冬令营的领队老师（包括马伟棋老师在内）和营员自发组织捐款捐物，目前已向黄冈红十字会捐赠口罩10000个。

海外华人华侨在国家危难之时心系祖国，为国家伸出援手，体现了血浓于水的同胞情谊，诠释了一方有难、八方支援的爱国情怀，极大地鼓舞了我市战胜新冠肺炎的信心和决心！
